The Pyithu Hluttaw elected Min Aung Hlaing with 247 votes against 10 for Kyaw Swe.

The Amyotha Hluttaw elected Nan Ni Ni Aye as the other vice president.

The military-appointed group will elect a third vice president.

The Union Parliament will then select the president from the three vice presidents.

Min Aung Hlaing has ruled Myanmar since the 2021 coup.
