Phoronix Tests Linux 7.1 With Mesa 26.1 On Radeon RX 9070 GRE And RX 9070 XT

Phoronix said it did not see any real differences out of the Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards with Linux 7.1 Git and Mesa 26.1 compared to Ubuntu 26.04 stock.

Phoronix noted a possible regression for Mesa 26.1 on the RX 9070 GRE in the Breaking Limit ray-tracing benchmark.

Phoronix concluded that there was "nothing exciting performance-wise" out of the Linux 7.1 Git and/or Mesa 26.1.1 upgrade for the Radeon RX 9070 GRE and RX 9070 XT tested in these benchmarks.

Notebookcheck said Nvidia officially unveiled the RTX 5060 Ti with 8 GB/16 GB and the RTX 5060 on April 15, while Nvidia decided to delay the RTX 5060 until May and launched the RTX 5060 Ti first in April.

Pause Hardware reported that the recommended e-tail price is $549 and that the card is based on a Navi 48 partially disabled with 48 Compute Units and 3,072 Stream Processors, shipping with 12 GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus.

Ars Technica said the similarly named Radeon RX 9070 GRE is launching this month for a suggested retail price of $549 and described it as having "85 percent as many GPU cores" and "75 percent as much memory" as the regular RX 9070.

Ars Technica also laid out the cut-down hardware, saying the RX 9070 GRE has 3,072 shader cores instead of 3,584 for the 9070 or 4,096 for the 9070 XT, and it uses a 192-bit memory interface instead of 256-bit.
