Ukraine’s Azov Forces Strike Secret Russian Fuel Hub in Novoamvrosiivka, Disrupting Logistics

Ukraine’s Azov forces said they struck a secret Russian fuel hub in Novoamvrosiivka, targeting infrastructure they said was feeding Putin’s army on the front line.

The London Business News report said the operation, “Inferno”, was carried out after “extensive reconnaissance” with Ukrainian drone operators using Hornet drones to hit the facility.

Azov said the attack damaged fuel tankers, disrupted key infrastructure and blocked nearby railway tracks, aiming at supply routes that keep Russian armoured units, artillery and vehicles moving.

The report also said Azov claimed the destruction of the storage facility forced Russian forces to reconsider their supply routes and move logistics operations further back into Russian territory, and that “they are forced to abandon the base and withdraw their logistics from the occupied territories to the Russian Federation.”

In a separate maritime claim, Report.az said Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck 14 Russian vessels in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov during overnight operations on July 12, including 10 tankers in the Sea of Azov.

The London Business News account framed the drone strike as a blow to Russia’s military supply chain, with Azov saying, “Petroleum products are the lifeblood of war,” and describing the vulnerability of rear-area logistics hubs.

In Report.az, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces said their drone units struck 14 Russian vessels and also claimed they struck a total of 90 vessels belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet between July 6 and July 13, while the claims “have not been independently verified.”

Report.az added that there was “no immediate comment from Russian authorities,” leaving the maritime numbers presented by Ukraine without an official Russian response in the same reporting.

The Euromaidan Press report described a different kind of drone impact, saying Ukrainian FP-1 strike drones set Russia’s Syzran oil refinery burning on 12 July and that analysts assessed the damage may be the campaign’s largest single result in months.

Euromaidan Press further claimed that analysis of footage shared by local residents pointed to hits on every primary crude processing unit at the Rosneft plant, and that Cyberboroshno said “100% of primary processing capacity” was damaged.

The London Business News report said Azov’s strike exposed what it called the vulnerability of logistics hubs designed to keep forces supplied while remaining protected from Ukrainian attacks.

It added that Azov claimed the destruction of the storage facility “has now complicated life for the occupiers,” and that Russian forces would be forced to withdraw logistics from occupied territories to the Russian Federation.

In the maritime theater, Report.az said Ukraine’s drone operators hit 10 tankers in the Sea of Azov and targeted three ferries near Kerch in occupied Crimea, while also claiming a wider tally of 90 vessels in the shadow fleet between July 6 and July 13.

Euromaidan Press tied the refinery attack to the broader war economy, saying “Russian oil exports pay for the army destroying Ukrainian cities,” and that Ukraine hits the industry itself with drones that “now outrange every safety buffer Russia thought it had.”

Separately, Euromaidan Press reported that the Syzran refinery fire followed strikes appearing from around 4:30 a.m. and that the plant processes 8.5–8.9 million tons of oil a year, with analysts saying the refinery produces nothing at all after the crude distillation units were hit.
