Maduro drug indictment
U.S. prosecutors in Manhattan unsealed an amended superseding indictment accusing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and members of his inner circle of running a decades-long, state-backed cocaine trafficking enterprise and related crimes.

Alleged transnational drug network
The indictment alleges Maduro directed a transnational criminal enterprise that worked with Mexico’s Sinaloa and Zetas cartels, Colombia’s FARC, Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua and other violent groups to smuggle cocaine into the United States.
It says the operation used diplomatic cover, sold passports and employed state security forces and armed gangs to protect shipments.
