Radushne family killed
President Volodymyr Zelensky said a Russian strike on July 30 in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast killed at least six family members in the village of Radushne, and he told audiences that "as of now – it is a North Korean ballistic missile."

The Kyiv Independent reported that local media said six family members were confirmed killed in Radushne outside Kryvyi Rih as of 6 p.m. local time, while identification work continued underneath the rubble of the home.
Ukrinform said Zelensky’s evening address, published on Telegram, described the attack as the first time in a while that Russians used a North Korean missile, while emergency response efforts continued in several Ukrainian cities.
In the same attack cycle, the Kyiv Independent said the overnight mass attack on Ukraine on July 30 killed at least eight people, injured more than 50 others, and triggered air raid alerts in eastern Poland after what is believed to have been a Russian missile fell into a field in the Lublin region.
Zelensky also framed the missile use as part of an expanding Russia-North Korea partnership, saying "The alliance between the Moscow scumbags and the deranged regime in North Korea exists for the sake of missiles" in his July 30 address.
Poland airspace dispute
Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk said during a press conference after a site inspection in Tarnawa-Kolonia that "Non c’è motivo di credere che la Polonia fosse l’obiettivo, ma due di questi oggetti hanno violato lo spazio aereo polacco."
CNN reported that Tusk told an emergency government meeting that "All indications suggest that it was a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile," as NATO and Poland scrambled military aircraft when the missile landed about 90 kilometers (55 miles) into Polish territory.
Ukrinform said Zelensky told audiences that many countries condemned the attack and that European countries made statements because a Russian missile flew into Polish territory and exploded somewhere in a field near Lublin.
The Kyiv Independent added that the strike marked the first such use of a North Korean missile in nearly a year, while Reuters military sources told it that the last confirmed use occurred in August 2025.
In the same broader attack, Time Magazine quoted Zelensky saying "Untimely assistance and delays in the delivery of anti-ballistic missiles lead to this kind of destruction" as he renewed his plea for air defense supplies.
Air defense stakes
Zelensky renewed his argument that the immediate priority is air defense, telling audiences that "Air defense missiles – for Patriots in the first place" and also naming NASAMS, IRIS-T, HAWK, and other systems.

Time Magazine said Zelensky decried a "critical shortage of air defense missiles from our partners" and added that he linked the destruction and casualties to delays in anti-ballistic missile delivery.
The Kyiv Independent reported that Ukraine said around 12,000 North Korean soldiers participated in Russia’s 2024 counteroffensive in Kursk Oblast, and it said Zelensky warned on July 25 that Pyongyang was preparing to send an additional 30,000 North Korean troops.
In the same reporting, the Kyiv Independent said Russia’s mass attack on July 30 included air raid alerts in eastern Poland after a missile fell into a field in the Lublin region, while the attack killed at least eight people and injured more than 50 others.
Time Magazine also said the European Commission announced it would disburse a further €3.47 billion (around $3.99 billion) for drones, missiles, air defense, and fighter jets under its €90 billion Ukraine Support Loan, as Zelensky met Mykhailo Drapatyi and other defense officials to discuss Ukraine’s ability to counter Russia’s ballistic missile attacks.
