Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt were also in attendance at the dignified transfer ceremony as devastated families watched the coffins being taken from the military plane. The fallen heros then received a guard of honor as their remains were brought to transfer vans. The fourth soldier killed in the most recent attacks was identified on Tuesday as Sergeant Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York. The US Department of War said that Rampersad is believed to have died during an enemy attack at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan, on Friday. Advertisement She was initially reported missing until her remains were identified on Tuesday. Her body was returned to the US on Wednesday alongside those of Sergeant Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of North Carolina; First Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii; and Pvt. Swinton was killed in action in Iraq on Sunday during a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian attack drown. “For me, it’s one of the hardest things to do as a president, but it has to be done,” Trump said before the ceremony. He also dismissed recent polling that suggests the majority of Americans oppose the Iran war. Advertisement “Americans aren’t against the war,” he said. “A poll just came out. Americans don’t want to have gasoline prices, but they’re not against the war. That just came out loud and clear in a poll. Nobody wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon. “You want Iran to have a nuclear weapon? You think it’s good?” The total number of American troops killed in the ongoing Iran war has increased to 18, since it began in February. The recent renewed violence ended a ceasefire reached on April 8 and a preliminary peace deal agreed to on June 7. Centcom forces have continued to help “facilitate the transit of approximately 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil,” since May.
