The Youth of Sumud (YOS) Centre in At-Tuwani, Masafer Yatta serves as a vital community hub for Palestinian youth and human rights defenders. Built in 2021 on private land belonging to the Huraini family, the centre provides essential educational and civic programming.
On September 29, 2025, the Jerusalem District Court under Judge Ram Winograd dismissed the family's appeal and confirmed the demolition order, imposing 7,500 ILS in costs. The court cited lack of consultation with the Archaeology Commission - a justification frequently used to legitimise demolitions under the guise of archaeological preservation.
