Apple unveiled HomeView, a 7-inch smart display hub powered by Siri AI. Prices start at $299 with pre-orders opened and shipments starting November 13.

HomeView arrives at $299
Apple introduced Apple HomeView as a new smart display designed to be central to the home and personal to everyone in it, and Apple said it is powered by Apple Intelligence with Siri AI at its core. HomeView includes a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and a domed speaker base connected by a stainless steel hinge, and HomeView can be placed on a tabletop or wall-mounted. HomeView recognizes users by their faces, adapting so they can access their personal content in Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My.
HomeView features Siri AI, an entirely new version of Siri with broad world knowledge that powers richer music discovery and onscreen awareness. Pre-orders start today, with availability beginning November 13.

Siri AI, cameras, and privacy
HomeView can recognize up to six people and deliver a personalized experience for each one, with each user getting their own personalized Home Screen with apps and widgets. HomeView can show a livestream for up to nine video feeds simultaneously, and HomeView can work with compatible cameras to deliver intelligent, end-to-end encrypted recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, packages, and vehicles. HomeView uses its integrated camera to identify who is using it and show them their profile, and the device relies mainly on hands-free voice commands.
HomeView can draw on a user’s personal context when paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled device, such as Calendar, Messages, and relevant information across apps. HomeView will not be available for purchase in the European Union at launch, citing ongoing regulatory constraints and compliance reviews regarding the rollout of Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features across iOS within the EU single market.

Ecosystem push and rollout
Apple positioned HomeView as a centerpiece for competing in the smart-home market, and Bloomberg said the product will be available on November 13 and is priced at US$299.
Apple partnered with LG Electronics Inc. and Schneider Electric SE to launch an “Apple Home Collection” line of accessories, including interior and exterior cameras, a video doorbell, thermostats, and locks.
HomeView can be used to make FaceTime calls and to manage smart home devices, and HomeView supports hands-free automations with voice control.
HomeView starts at $299 and ships on Nov. 13, and CNBC said Apple said the device will recognize the user by their face to display pertinent information.
HomeView is designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user, and Greg Joswiak said it “recognizes your face to shift from a household screen to your own experience.”
