Drone strikes in Darfur
A fresh drone attack hit the town of Kubum in South Darfur on Thursday, killing at least nine civilians, four days after an earlier strike killed 20 people.
“An aerial drone attack in Sudan against a key hospital killed 64 people during Eid al-Fitr, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)”
Radio Dabanga said the drone targeted a civilian vehicle in the Mansi neighbourhood of Kubum on Thursday, killing the driver instantly, and witnesses reported a second strike that killed eight more people.

The attack followed another drone strike on Monday morning that killed at least 20 civilians, including two women and two children, and injured five others.
In a separate incident reported by lecourrier.vn, UN chief Farhan Haq said a drone strike took place on Monday about 150 km southwest of the state capital Nyala and killed more than 30 Sudanese civilians, with additional civilian casualties reported in another strike on the same day against the town of Kutum in North Darfur.
Hospital attack and denials
On Friday evening in El-Daein, a town in western Sudan controlled by its rivals, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the World Health Organization reported that a drone attack on El-Daein University Hospital killed 64 people during Eid al-Fitr.
BBC reported that WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote on X, "Too much blood has been shed," urging the warring parties to end the conflict that began nearly three years ago.

The RSF claimed that a military drone had struck El-Daein Hospital on the day Muslims were celebrating Eid, while the Sudanese army denied having carried out the attack and said it complied with the "standards and international law."
tv5monde said the WHO reported the hospital in Darfur East was targeted on Saturday, March 21, in an attack using heavy weapons that killed at least 64 people, including 13 children, and left many more injured.
Calls for ceasefire and protection
As the thousandth day of Sudan's civil war approaches, lecourrier.vn reported that UN secretary-general António Guterres reiterated his call for states with influence over the parties to take immediate action and use their influence to impose an immediate ceasefire and end arms flows fueling the conflict.
“The attack is said to have taken place on Monday about 150 km southwest of the state capital Nyala, Farhan Haq said”
The same source said Guterres condemned all attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure and demanded that all parties respect obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and international human rights standards, in all active-conflict areas in Sudan.
In Darfur East, tv5monde quoted the WHO calling to "guarantee the protection of civilians, health workers and humanitarian workers" in the country.
BBC added that Dr. Tedros said the WHO had confirmed "2,036 people have been killed in 213 attacks against health facilities" during nearly three years of conflict, and urged de-escalation and protection of civilians, health workers, and humanitarian personnel.
