England rout Croatia 7-0
England thrashed Croatia 7-0 in Rijeka on Saturday in the Nations League, with Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka both scoring twice as Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Morgan Rogers added further goals. England captain Kane opened the scoring in the 8th minute, and Bellingham, Gordon and Saka all found the net before half-time to leave the match effectively decided.
England then extended their lead with Kane’s fifth in the 53rd minute, Saka’s second in the 68th minute, and Rogers completing the rout in the 87th minute. Thomas Tuchel’s side made it two wins from their first three matches in their Nations League group, and the result came after the tie was played “behind closed doors “ because of crowd trouble involving Croatia fans against France in 2025.

Tuchel’s attackers praised
BBC Sport England reporter Alex Howell rated Jude Bellingham as “The best player on the pitch,” and Howell gave Kane a “Just an elite finisher” assessment after Kane scored England’s fifth goal too. Thomas Tuchel’s attackers also drew praise for their attacking freedom, and FotMob described the match as “Tuchel's attackers shine in a historic Nations League drubbing.”
England’s goals arrived in a sequence that BBC Sport highlighted, with Kane opening the scoring and Bellingham, Gordon and Saka also finding the net before half-time. England’s 7-0 win also followed a reduced crowd in Rijeka, with Al Jazeera saying “Approximately 6,000 local schoolchildren and 100 England supporters were allowed into the Stadion HNK Rijeka.”

Group implications and next match
England reached six points in Group A3 after the 7-0 win, and Claro Sports said the result came after England opened the tournament with a 3-2 defeat to Spain and then bounced back with a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic. Croatia remained on three points after suffering their second consecutive defeat, and Claro Sports said Croatia had started the day with the same three points as England.
Al Jazeera said England chase a top-two finish to secure a spot in the Nations League quarterfinals in March, and it added that England conclude the international break again against Czech Republic at Wembley on Tuesday. England’s next Nations League match at Wembley was framed as a chance for a louder occasion than Rijeka, with Al Jazeera noting Tuchel warned the relaxed mood in the camp must not put his team into “holiday mode”.
