Hezbollah Blames Fires
Hezbollah’s Media Relations issued an official statement condemning “Israeli” forces for setting fire to wooded areas across South Lebanon, saying the burning reduced green zones to “completely scorched and uninhabitable land.”

The group described the environmental destruction as part of a broader campaign targeting the region’s physical and agricultural landscape, and it framed the fires as “a continuation of urban destruction, infrastructure leveling, and the theft of ancient olive trees.”

In the same statement, Hezbollah directed sharp criticism toward the Lebanese government, claiming state bodies failed to lodge formal complaints against “Israel” in international arenas.
Hezbollah argued that prior commitments effectively provided “Israel” with immunity from accountability, enabling further violations, and it said the ongoing destruction is taking place while authorities cannot even file a complaint or sue the enemy.
Accusation in Beqaa
L’Orient-Le Jour reported that Hezbollah accused Israel of leading an “environmental destruction” in South Lebanon and in western Beqaa after several fires were sparked in wooded areas of the region.
In its statement published by its Media Relations Department, Hezbollah said that “the fact that the enemy, Israel, openly sets forest areas in South Lebanon as well as in western Beqaa on fire” constitutes a continuation of destruction.

The article says Hezbollah believes the “ongoing environmental destruction” is taking place while Lebanese authorities are, according to it, unable “even to file a complaint or initiate proceedings against the enemy.”
L’Orient-Le Jour also said Hezbollah accuses officials of having offered Israel “a security guarantee” that would allow it to continue actions “while being assured of escaping any sanction.”
Calls to Act
Al-Manar TV Lebanon carried a Hezbollah Media Relations message saying the “Israeli enemy’s deliberate burning of wooded areas in southern Lebanon” constitutes a continuation of “urban devastation” and the destruction of infrastructure.

The same Al-Manar TV Lebanon item described the burning as “the plundering of trees,” linking the fires to what Hezbollah frames as broader damage to the environment and local assets.
L’Orient-Le Jour added that despite another ceasefire proclaimed on June 19 between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Israeli army continues daily to carry out the destruction of houses and civilian infrastructure in the South.
In its concluding call, Hezbollah urged the government, the Ministry of Environment, and all concerned ministries and agencies to “raise their voice and act to put an end to the Israeli savagery against the environment, after men and infrastructure.”
