Iranian Lawmakers Denounce U.S. Attack On Wedding Ceremony As War Crime

Wedding Strike Claims
Iranian lawmakers used a virtual session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly to denounce a U.S. attack on a wedding ceremony as a war crime, arguing that the missile type and the distance from a telecom tower proved intent.

In ILNA’s account of the same remarks, Nikzad said the “type of missile used and the distance from the telecommunications tower to the wedding ceremony prove this was a war crime.”
The ILNA report also said the remarks were delivered during a virtual open session on Tuesday, September 8, and that Nikzad honored the 17th of Shahrivar as “the symbol of courage, resistance, and steadfastness of the great Iranian nation.”
Escalation and Oil
Beyond the parliamentary statements, IDNFinancials linked rising U.S.-Iran tensions to global oil prices, saying Brent rose 1.5% to $97.73 per barrel and briefly touched $97.93 per barrel.
The same report said West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 1.8% to $93.10 per barrel, and described the move as the highest since late July, after the United States and Iran exchanged attacks over the weekend.
IDNFinancials attributed the escalation to the American military attacking three Iranian oil tankers on Saturday, following Iranian ballistic missile attacks on two U.S. Navy ships, according to United States Central Command (CENTCOM).
It also quoted Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on X saying, “They attacked our assets, and you will be attacked.”
Legal Framing and Accountability
In a separate legal framing, IRNA described a process for documenting U.S. and Zionist regime campaigns against Iran, calling for recording the number and details of victims, the status of the injured, and the extent of damage to homes and civilian structures.

It also stated that the Human Rights Headquarters announced that attacks on Iranian vessels in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman are contrary to international law and human rights standards.
IRNA further asserted that the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs described the attack on the wedding ceremony in Sirik and the martyrdom of four people, including a child, and the injury of 50 others as “another testimony to the inhuman crimes of the United States.”
