Iraqi groups vow support
Iraqi Kata'ib Hezbollah said resistance groups would participate "immediately and decisively" in any war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, with Abu Mujahid al-Assaf, the group’s security chief, making the remarks on Tuesday.
Mehr News Agency reported Assaf said the decision is "based on belief, and there is no room for bargaining," framing the position as ideological commitment rather than negotiation.

Kurdistan24 reported that the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades and armed factions affiliated with the 'Axis of Resistance' warned the United States that if Iraqi territory is used or logistical support is provided to carry out an attack on Iran, all American military bases in Iraq will become targets for them.
Kurdistan24 added that the Kata'ib Hezbollah pointed out that American support for Israel, including the use of Iraqi airspace or supplying weapons and munitions, would make all American interests legitimate targets for them.
Threats tied to U.S. support
Kurdistan24 said the armed factions affiliated with the Axis of Resistance issued a warning in a statement on Monday, June 8, 2026, saying they would not hesitate to target American bases inside Iraq if Israel launches an attack on Iran and the United States provides logistical or aerial support to it.
Kurdistan24 also said the Victoria logistics base near Baghdad Airport would be one of the main targets, after the factions said they had completed full preparations to respond to any unwanted possibilities in the region.

Mehr News Agency described Assaf’s remarks as coming as the United States has resumed unwarranted acts of aggression against southern Iran.
PressTV similarly framed the same Kata'ib Hezbollah position through Assaf, saying resistance groups would participate "immediately and decisively" in any war against Iran, and linking the comments to U.S. actions against southern Iran.
Regional escalation and ceasefire
Kurdistan24 reported that tensions between Iran and Israel reached peak levels amid fears of a full-scale war, and said the Israeli Air Force carried out broad airstrikes targeting 'military targets' in western and central Iran.
Kurdistan24 stated that the Israeli army announced it had targeted facilities belonging to what it described as the 'Iranian terrorist regime,' confirming the strikes came in response to the launch of 11 Iranian missiles that were intercepted all Sunday evening over wide areas of northern and central Israel, including Haifa and Caesarea.
IRNA said the Secretary-General of Iraq's Kata'ib Hezbollah, Abu Hussein al-Hamidawi, described the "forty-day war" as a historic victory for the axis of resistance, adding that although part of the confrontation has ended, its nature remains ongoing and existential.
IRNA also reported that Donald Trump withdrew after 40 days of war against Iran and that, following 40 days of joint war by the United States and Israel against Iran, the two sides agreed on a two-week ceasefire mediated by Pakistan to conduct talks to end the war and achieve lasting peace.
