IRGC strikes across Gulf
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out new retaliatory strikes targeting US military facilities across the Gulf, including in Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait.
“Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has targeted US military facilities in Bahrain, claimed it has destroyed radar systems in Oman and hit Jordan and Kuwait in its latest round of overnight retaliatory strikes against the United States”
In Oman, the IRGC said it attacked “the FPS long-range aerial radar and the vessel detection radar in Oman”, adding that these radar systems were destroyed.

In Bahrain, the IRGC said it launched missile and drone attacks targeting “installations and infrastructure of the aggressive US army” in Juffair, Bahrain, and it said it also targeted several facilities at the Sheikh Isa Air Base.
In Jordan, Jordan’s military said it intercepted and downed “four missiles that entered Jordanian airspace” and came from Iranian territory, while the IRGC said it had targeted Prince Hassan Air Base with missiles and drones.
In Kuwait, the IRGC said it targeted a US surface-to-surface missile base, “setting fire to two HIMARS missile launchers and missile-packed warehouses, completely destroying them”.
US blockade and claims
The BBC said the US and Iran exchanged another wave of strikes as the dispute over control of the Strait of Hormuz threatened efforts to end their war, with the US military saying it hit dozens of targets to degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping.
The BBC reported that President Donald Trump said the US was reinstating its naval blockade on Iran and would charge 20% on all cargo shipped through the strait, while the Revolutionary Guards said the US was jeopardising “the world’s oil and gas supplies” by interfering in the waterway.

The BBC also said Iranian media reported that four people were killed, and it described Iranian state reporting of explosions along the Gulf coast including in Sirik, Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas and Jask.
In response to the US strikes, the IRGC said it retaliated with attacks on US military bases and infrastructure in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, including fuel tanks and ammunition dumps at the Prince Hassan air base in Jordan.
The BBC added that Trump told reporters the US was hitting Iran “very hard” because it had broken the deal on the Strait of Hormuz, and he said “We’re going to keep the strait, and we’ll probably run it.”
Shipping and reopening at risk
Al Jazeera said the number of vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz has fallen to its lowest level in five weeks, and it cited Kpler data that six ships sailed through the strait on Sunday.
“Iran’s IRGC says destroyed US weapons, drones in attacks in Bahrain, Kuwait Attacks targeted Sheikh Isa base in Bahrain and Ali Salem base in Kuwait, according to Revolutionary Guards Serdar Dincel 14 July 2026•Update: 14 July 2026 ISTANBUL Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Tuesday that it destroyed several US weapons and drones in attacks in Bahrain and Kuwait, amid escalation between Tehran and Washington”
Al Jazeera reported that the six ships included the Humanity and the Capetan Andreas, transporting 2 million barrels of Iranian oil and 500,000 barrels of Kuwaiti petroleum products, respectively, while it also said three empty tankers entered the Gulf.
The BBC said the escalation cast doubt over the preliminary agreement the US and Iran signed in June to end their four-month conflict and reopen the strait, and it said the escalation caused a jump in oil prices with Brent crude up more than 3% on Monday.
In parallel, the IRGC warned that continued US military action would prevent the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and halt regional oil and gas exports, according to PressTV’s account of the IRGC statement.
PressTV also quoted the IRGC saying “as long as US mischief continues in the region, not a single drop of oil or gas will be exported from the region,” linking the threat directly to the ongoing attacks.
