Unbroken Bombing
Israel intensified its bombing campaign across Lebanon three hours after the U.S. and Iran announced a two-week ceasefire.
“Lebanon was subjected to an Israeli aerial assault—the fiercest since March 2”
The strikes killed over 300 people nationwide and injured more than 1,800, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
Bombs hit a girls' school in Tyre, killing at least 27 children and wounding scores of pupils and staff.
The sustained bombardment targeted southern Beirut, the southern suburbs Hamra and Basta, and key roads and bridges across Lebanon.
Regional Outrage
Egypt and Kuwait issued strong condemnations of the strikes, with Egypt calling it a premeditated attempt to undermine the ceasefire.
The UN Secretary-General's acting spokesperson condemned the Israeli strikes and urged seizing the ceasefire opportunity.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights called the scale of killing and destruction no less than horrific.
Pakistan announced the truce includes Lebanon, a claim both Trump and Netanyahu contradicted.
Ceasefire Undermined
The renewed Israeli bombing came as the U.S.-Iran conflict moved toward resolution while strikes on proxies continued.
