On April 9, Agence Media Palestine reported that five Palestinians, including a schoolgirl, were killed in several separate attacks, including an Israeli strike targeting a group of civilians near Al-Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in the Jabalia refugee camp.

The same update said a nine-year-old girl, Ritaj Abdulrahman Rihan, was shot in the head while at school in Beit Lahiya, with the Palestinian Ministry of Education reporting she was attending a class in a classroom set up under a tent.

Middle East Monitor framed the wider pattern as continued ceasefire violations, saying “3 police members were among five Palestinians killed” in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Friday.

Deaths, identities, and hospitals

Agence Media Palestine described how a schoolgirl was assassinated in her classroom and said the Palestinian Ministry of Education reported she was attending a class in a classroom set up under a tent in Beit Lahiya, in northern Gaza.

It also quoted Ola, the child’s mother, telling Middle East Eye that she “brought her back dead with her face covered in blood,” after she said she dressed and tied her for school that morning.

Middle East Monitor, meanwhile, reported that a medical source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital told Anadolu Agency that the bodies of three Palestinians and two injured people were brought to the hospital following an Israeli drone strike targeting a civilian vehicle at the entrance to Al-Maghazi refugee camp.

Anadolu Ajansı said the body of Oday Younis, 35, was brought to Al-Shifa Hospital after an Israeli drone strike in Beit Lahia, and local sources told Anadolu that Younis was killed while collecting firewood near Israeli military positions.

TRT Français added another set of identities, saying three young men were transferred to Al-Ahli Arab Hospital after a drone targeted Mushtaha Street in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of the city.

What’s at stake next

Agence Media Palestine said more than 21,000 Palestinian children have been killed since October 2023 and that 44,000 others have been injured, as relentless attacks and an “illegal siege” drive Gaza’s inhabitants into hunger, destitution, and violence.

It also reported that on April 11, several separate Israeli attacks killed at least seven Palestinians across the Gaza Strip, including six in a strike against a police checkpoint in the Bureij camp, central Gaza.

Agence Media Palestine said more than 2,800 Gaza police officers have been killed since Hamas’s attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023, and described how Gaza police have been trying to restore security by reopening police stations while being regularly targeted by the Israeli army.

Middle East Monitor said the ceasefire agreement had been in effect since Oct. 10, 2025, but that violations continued, adding that “According to Gaza’s Health Ministry” Israeli violations had killed 1,031 Palestinians and injured 3,309 others as of Thursday.

TRT Français said Israel still occupies more than 50% of Gaza and reported that “At least 651 Palestinians have been killed and 1,741 injured” in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire came into effect last October.
