Police station strike
An Israeli airstrike hit a municipal police station in central Gaza City on Wednesday, killing at least nine Palestinians and wounding fifteen others, according to local medical sources and medics.
“At least nine Palestinians, including police officers and children, were killed”
An Anadolu Ajansı report said the bodies of nine slain Palestinians and more than 15 injured people were brought to Al-Shifa Hospital after the strike, and it said the Wednesday deaths brought the total Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday to 10 after another strike hit a motorcycle in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
TRT World said the strike killed nine Palestinians and wounded fifteen others at the headquarters of the municipal police, adding that several officers, some of them high-ranking, were among those killed.
TRT World also said Israel has repeatedly targeted police personnel and infrastructure in Gaza, and it described Palestinian authorities’ view that the aim is weakening public order institutions.
The same TRT World account said mediators continue efforts to advance implementation of a ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10, 2025, while Israeli violations have led to the deaths of 1,266 Palestinians and the wounding of 4,200.
Claims, denials, and blame
The Israeli military said the police-station strike targeted a Hamas commander, and RTE.ie quoted the Israeli military saying, "Prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance," while it also said it struck a commander in Hamas's military wing in the Nuseirat area.
RTE.ie reported that Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem condemned what he called Israel's "complete disregard for all calls for a ceasefire," and it said he blamed Donald Trump’s Board of Peace for the escalation due to its failure to pressure the occupation to abide by its commitments.
WSLS said the Hamas-run Interior Ministry reported that the Gaza City strike hit a police station and killed eight police officers and a 13-year-old girl, with two of the officers identified as women.
WSLS also said Israel’s military completed reviews of 150 incidents of troop conduct during the war in Gaza and would launch criminal investigations into the killings of a 5-year-old girl and her family, as well as of 15 Palestinian paramedics.
In the same WSLS account, Jared Kushner held a marathon meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, where Kushner asked Netanyahu to draw down attacks on Gaza, according to a person familiar with the meeting who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Ceasefire stakes and toll
The Anadolu Ajansı account said Gaza's Interior and National Security Ministry accused Israel of seeking to “disable the police force to spread chaos within Palestinian society” and rejected Israel’s claims used to justify the attack, while it condemned “international silence” over repeated attacks on Gaza's police force.
“Israeli violations of the ceasefire have killed 1,273 Palestinians”
Anadolu Ajansı also said Gaza Health Ministry figures put Israeli violations of the ceasefire at 1,273 Palestinians killed and more than 4,000 injured since last October, when the ceasefire agreement went into effect.
TRT World said the escalation came as Hamas demanded that Israel adhere to the ceasefire and withdraw its forces from Gaza, and it added that Hamas said it would influence its stance on the agreement if there were no halt to Israel's targeted attacks.
El Comercio Perú reported that the Israeli army killed at least 10 Gazans and injured another 20 in two attacks, including a drone bombardment of the Gaza police headquarters in the city of Gaza that killed at least nine and wounded 15 taken to Shifa Hospital.
El Comercio Perú said the local Health Ministry data raised the total murdered since October 7, 2023 to 73,400, and it said the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Palestinian Territories reiterated in June that Israel has committed genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes in Gaza due to deliberate attacks on Palestinian children.
