Strike during ceasefire

An Israeli airstrike killed at least two Palestinians in Gaza City on Sunday, health officials said, after an airstrike hit a group of people at the Omar Al-Mokhtar road in the heart of the city north of the enclave.

NST Online said medics reported several others were wounded, and it added that the Israeli military did not immediately comment on the incident.

TRT World reported that an Israeli drone strike killed two Palestinians and injured several others near a water distribution station in Gaza City on Sunday, with the Gaza Civil Defence saying the drone targeted civilians gathered outside a water distribution point in the Al-Samer area east of Gaza City.

TRT World said the attack was described as another violation of the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025, and it cited Gaza’s Health Ministry saying Israeli attacks since the ceasefire have killed 1,066 people and injured 3,445 others.

NST Online also said Israel has repeatedly carried out strikes on Gaza since a US-mediated ceasefire with Hamas was reached in October last year, while Hamas accused Israel of violating the ceasefire.

Competing casualty claims

TRT World said Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that Israel’s genocidal war, launched on October 7, 2023, has devastated nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure and killed more than 73,000 Palestinians.

In the same report, TRT World said the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs reported that Israeli troops raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Mughrabi Gate in occupied East Jerusalem 26 times during June.

TRT World also quoted the ministry documenting settlers performing Talmudic rituals inside the compound, including "epic prostration," collective prostration, and public group prayers, as well as prayers for Israeli soldiers in front of the Dome of the Rock.

NST Online said that since the ceasefire took effect eight months ago, over 1,060 Palestinians, many of them civilians, and four Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza, according to figures from each side.

NST Online added that Hamas does not disclose its fatality figures, while Nikolay Mladenov, the US President Donald Trump-appointed Board of Peace envoy to Gaza, has said both parties have violated the agreement.

Aid workers and water

The Times of Israël reported that two UNICEF civilian subcontractors were shot dead on Friday by Israeli soldiers in northern Gaza, with UNICEF saying the next day it was outraged by the deaths.

It said UNICEF described the victims as truck drivers hired by the organization to provide drinking water to families in the Gaza Strip, and it identified the incident as occurring at the Mansoura water-supply point, described as the only operational water-supply point for the tanker trucks serving Gaza City’s Mekorot water-supply network.

The Times of Israël quoted UNICEF’s position that "Humanitarian workers, essential service providers, and civilian infrastructure, including vital water-supply facilities, must never be targeted."

The same report said the Israeli army opened an investigation after stating its soldiers spotted two armed terrorists in the area of the Yellow Line approaching and opened fire, and it said the incident occurred during routine water-supply operations.

Separately, TRT World said Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli attacks since the ceasefire have killed 1,066 people and injured 3,445 others, while it also said Israel now occupies about 70 percent of the Palestinian enclave.
