Ceasefire not holding
Gaza has not known a ceasefire, Al-Jazeera Net reported, saying “Gaza is still being bombarded every day and has not known a ceasefire, and the pain continues to flare up without stopping.”
“Death toll in Israeli strikes on Gaza rises to 13 Gaza's civil defence agency said Israeli strikes across the Palestinian territory on Friday killed at least 13 people, including five in an attack that targeted a police vehicle”
The outlet described a continuing pattern of Israeli airstrikes that it said targeted sites across the sector, adding that “Since yesterday, Friday, 13 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were martyred in Israeli airstrikes that targeted sites across the sector.”

It also tied the escalation to what it called “the suffocating blockade of crossings,” describing a wave of anger among residents reflected on social media as humanitarian conditions deteriorated.
Al-Jazeera Net quoted activists saying “there is no longer any agreement, but an Israeli mood for killing at any time,” and said the attacks produced “three massacres in the past hours.”
The same report asserted that Israeli violations of the ceasefire in effect since October 10, 2025 continued, and it cited a Government Media Office statement on April 14 that Israel committed “2,400 breaches of the ceasefire, including killing, arrest, blockade, and starvation.”
It further said those violations resulted in “the martyrdom of 972 Palestinians and injuries to 2,235 others, according to the Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip.”
Strikes across Gaza
On Friday, 24 News HD reported that Israeli strikes across the Palestinian territory killed at least 13 people, including five in an attack that targeted a police vehicle.
The civil defence agency said the airstrike hit a police vehicle in the Al-Mawasi area of the southern city of Khan Yunis, and it said eight people, including a child, were killed there.

The interior ministry, according to the same report, said two of the dead were police officers.
In a separate incident, 24 News HD said three people—“a woman and her two children”—were killed when Israeli artillery struck residential homes near Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.
It also described a third attack in which an Israeli aircraft struck another police patrol in Gaza City, killing two people and injuring two others, with the interior ministry confirming the two killed were police officers.
At Al-Shifa hospital, the report quoted Mohammed al-Qassas, the brother of one of the dead, telling AFP, “the war never stopped... this is not fair”.
Names, places, and claims
A separate incident described by Latest news from Azerbaijan said an Israeli air strike killed five Palestinians, including three children, in the northern Gaza Strip.
The report said the strike reportedly hit a group of people near a mosque in the town of Beit Lahia on Wednesday evening, and it listed victims identified by local journalists as Abdullah al-Abed (9), Salah al-Abed (12), Mohammad Balousha (14), Alaa Balousha (46), and Anas Abu Foul (19).
It added that the Israel military said it targeted an individual it described as a “terrorist” who had approached troops near the so-called “Yellow Line,” an area marking territory under Israeli control, claiming the person posed an immediate threat.
The same report said a Hamas spokesman condemned the strike, calling it a “horrific massacre.”
It also placed the incident “amid a fragile ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that has been in place since last October,” and it reiterated that the Gaza war was triggered by the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
The report stated that Gaza’s health authorities say hundreds of Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began, while Israel reports continued attacks on its forces by Palestinian armed groups during the same period.
Hospital toll and war totals
Xinhua reported additional deaths from an Israeli airstrike, saying “Three Palestinians were killed this afternoon (Thursday) in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle in the city of al-Maghazi in the central Gaza Strip.”
It said Palestinian security and medical sources reported the strike, and that “an Israeli drone fired at least one missile toward a civilian vehicle on Salah al-Din Street at the entrance to the city of al-Maghazi.”

Medical sources at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah said the strike killed three people who were all transported to the hospital, and Xinhua said the Israeli army issued no statement about the incident.
Xinhua also connected the incident to the previous day’s violence, stating that “a day after five Palestinians, including three children, were killed in Israeli bombardment on the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.”
It quoted a medical source at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City saying the hospital received five bodies, including three children, from the Israeli strike, along with a number of injuries of varying degrees.
The report then anchored its casualty accounting in Gaza’s Health Ministry statement, saying “bringing the total toll since the ceasefire began on October 10 last year to 972 dead and 2,235 wounded.”
Competing narratives and accusations
Across the reports, the ceasefire’s status and responsibility for violence are framed through competing claims.
Al-Jazeera Net asserted that “Gaza is still being bombarded every day and has not known a ceasefire,” and it said activists described “there is no longer any agreement, but an Israeli mood for killing at any time.”

In contrast, 24 News HD described an “October ceasefire” while saying Gaza “remains gripped by daily violence as Israeli strikes continue and both the Israeli military and Hamas accuse one another of breaking the truce.”
It quoted Hamas condemning “the barbaric Zionist attacks that reached all parts of the Gaza Strip since this morning,” and denouncing the international community’s “failure to assume responsibilities towards stopping the ongoing crimes against our people.”
The same report included the Israeli military’s later justification, stating “Earlier today (Friday), IDF troops under the Southern Command identified armed Hamas terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip,” and that “In order to remove the threat, the terrorists were eliminated in an aerial strike.”
Al-Jazeera Net, meanwhile, cited a Government Media Office statement on April 14 saying Israel committed “2,400 breaches of the ceasefire,” and it said the result was “the martyrdom of 972 Palestinians and injuries to 2,235 others.”
