Tell clash, Gaza strikes
Israeli military operations continued in Gaza and the occupied West Bank as civilians grappled with the consequences of the conflict, with AP describing a deadly confrontation in the village of Tell that left four Palestinians and one Israeli dead.

AP also reported that Israeli forces killed, according to health authorities, at least four Palestinians in Tell, and that people mourned the death of Jawad Ramadan, who the Palestinian Health Ministry said was killed by Israeli forces near Tell and taken to Nablus Speciality Hospital.
In Gaza, AP said Israeli strikes continued and residents mourned those killed as the humanitarian crisis persisted despite the fragile ceasefire.
Al Jazeera said the Israeli military launched a “wide-scale military operation” across the West Bank ordered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the deaths of soldiers in a shootout near Nablus, and that settlers then became bolder and more violent.
Al Jazeera linked the crackdown to a Friday confrontation in Tal, southwest of Nablus, where video footage confirmed villagers’ testimony that about 20 Israeli settlers approached Tal with the intent of causing violence and a shootout erupted after Israeli soldiers arrived.
Quotes, accusations, arrests
Al Jazeera reported that Lieutenant Colonel Ella Waweya, a spokesperson for the Israeli army, said on Sunday that Israeli forces were raiding houses in Tal belonging to villagers suspected of involvement in Friday’s violence and that the homes “were raided in preparation for their temporary sealing, as a preliminary step preceding their demolition”.
In the same report, Phyllis Bennis of the Institute for Policy Studies told Al Jazeera, “We’re seeing an increase in direct war crimes,” and said Israel’s distinction between settlers and soldiers is false because “Some of the settlers are themselves part of the Israeli military.”
The BBC said the latest attacks came two days after a clash near Tal left four Palestinians and two Israelis dead, and it quoted Netanyahu’s response as a vow to take “powerful action”.
The BBC also reported that the Israel Defense Forces carried out raids and arrested more than 130 individuals over the weekend in what it called a “counter-terrorism” operation, while Palestinians described multiple settler attacks on villages across the West Bank.
In a separate account, the National said Israeli settlers torched two mosques in the occupied West Bank on Sunday and that the Israeli military launched a “major counter-terrorism operation,” detaining more than 40 Palestinians across Nablus, Tulkarm, Jenin and Salfit.

Human Rights Watch warned that settler violence in the West Bank threatens mass atrocities, saying it accused the Israeli government of creating an atmosphere of lawlessness, a breakdown of the rule of law, and impunity that has led to a dangerous rise in settler violence.

Zad al-Urdon al-Akhbari reported that Human Rights Watch said the settler attack on the village of Tel near Nablus on the 24th of this month killed four Palestinians and two Israelis, followed by Benjamin Netanyahu announcing a major operation to combat terrorism and Israeli officials vowing to destroy Palestinian villages and homes.
The same report cited United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs figures saying the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank since the start of 2026 through July 19 was 68, including at least 13 shot by settlers, while 20 Israelis were injured in the same period.
In Gaza, AP said Israeli strikes continued and residents mourned those killed as the humanitarian crisis persisted despite the fragile ceasefire, and it placed the violence alongside the ongoing conflict’s consequences.
In the West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced escalating attacks by settlers on mosques and property and called on the international community and the United Nations to take binding measures, while also urging that armed settler groups be classified as terrorist organizations and that punitive sanctions be imposed.
