Raid near Ramallah
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of a young man and a boy on Wednesday evening after the Israeli occupation army shot them in the town of al-Mughir, east of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank.

Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi issued instructions to raise the state of alert in the West Bank as Israeli forces stormed the village on Wednesday evening and closed its main entrance, alongside clashes and assaults carried out by groups of settlers against Palestinians.
The Al-Jazirah Net account says the village of al-Mughir has repeatedly faced attacks by settlers, with Israeli forces intervening to provide protection for them, and it adds that settlers, under army and police protection, stole sheep belonging to Palestinian citizen Shihada Kaubenneh in the western area of the village.
In a separate incident described by the BBC, funerals took place for two Palestinian teenagers whom local officials said were killed by Israeli settlers and soldiers in an attack on their village of al-Mughayyir near Ramallah, where the Israeli military said it entered to provide security for an Israeli civilian and police trying to retrieve livestock.

The BBC reported that the Israeli military stated its forces fired on and struck what it called "key instigators" of a "violent disturbance," in which Palestinians threw stones at its troops, while the BBC also said the deaths came amid a recent surge in settler violence in the West Bank.
In the same broader context, Al-Jazirah Net says the Jerusalem Post quoted an Israeli official as saying that the violence of settlers in the West Bank is causing diplomatic damage to Israel, and it adds that the Foreign Ministry is working to mitigate those damages.
Al-Jazirah Net further reports that the Jerusalem Post quoted the Israeli official saying, “We asked the government to show on media footage of arrests and legal actions against settlers,” and it notes that Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich strongly opposed that recommendation.
The BBC also said Israel’s police force arrested a 19-year-old settler on suspicion of participating in an attack on the Palestinian village of Qusra on Saturday, describing it as the first such arrest in weeks of attacks on Qusra.

It also describes how, since the start of Israel’s war of genocide against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, its army and settlers have escalated assaults in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, through killings, arrests, displacement, home demolitions, and settlement expansion.
In the BBC’s account of the year’s violence, it said at least 81 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank since the start of the year, and it added that 25 of those deaths occurred in the context of settler attacks.
Separately, Infobae reported that Israeli police detained a 19-year-old settler implicated in the invasion of a Palestinian home and assault on its residents in Qusra on August 29, and it quoted Qusay Abu Ridi saying, “The situation remains the same. Nothing has changed,” as the army continued to surround the besieged house.
