Olive harvest attacks
Israeli colonizers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters and solidarity activists for the second consecutive day in Deir Jarir, northeast of Ramallah, and local sources said the colonizers fired live ammunition to intimidate farmers and prevent them from completing the olive harvest. The colonizers forced farmers to leave their lands in the Al-Harayeq area east of Deir Jarir, and the Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission documented 34 attacks by colonizers against Palestinian farmers, their lands, and crops between Friday morning and evening.
The Commission said the attacks injured at least 19 Palestinians and caused additional cases of suffocation, with children, women, elderly residents, journalists, and rescue workers among those targeted. The attacks also spread across the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, with colonizer attacks reported in Turmus Ayya, Abu Falah, Burqa, Deir Jarir, Abwein, the areas surrounding Birzeit and Burham, as well as At-Taybeh, Rammun, and Kafr Ni’ma.

Injuries and live fire
A Reuters correspondent reported that two Palestinians were injured by live fire from the Israeli occupation army during an attack by settlers on farmers in Deir Jarir (Deir Ammar) west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Red Crescent said that six people were injured, including a young man, four women, and a child, after settlers assaulted Palestinians in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
The Channel’s correspondent said Israeli forces opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle in the town of Taqua, southeast of Bethlehem, and the head of the Kefar Malik municipality told Al Jazeera that settlers attacked a Palestinian farm and killed about 20 sheep at dawn. WAFA said settlers attacked Palestinian farmers under the protection of the Israeli army in the Hara’iq area east of Deir Jarir and fired live ammunition to frighten them and prevent them from completing the olive harvest, before forcing them to leave their lands.
International responses and stakes
Belgian Foreign Minister Mech Maxime Prévot expressed his country’s displeasure with the European Union’s slow move toward Israel and announced that Belgium intends to take national measures to pressure the Israeli government. Prévot stressed that his country condemns the settlement project “E1” without ambiguity due to its association with violations of international law, and the report said Peace Now in Israel urged companies and banks to warn against submitting offers to build projects in the E1 area.
The report said three tenders, including more than 3,400 settlement units and a commercial complex, were currently proceeding, and it added that competing companies need banking guarantees totaling 14.4 million shekels. The report also tied the “international sanctions path” to rising settler violence and displacement, and it said a report published on October 12 by “N-Depth News” warned of displacement, settlement, and assaults against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
