Kenya renewable energy push
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi said Kenya must fast-track the transition to renewable energy and reimagine Africa's future.
““We must fast-track the transition to renewable energy and reimagine Africa’s future”
He argued that if the continent were powered by clean energy, including solar, geothermal and hydro, the Middle East crisis would not have the same far-reaching impact.

He presented the energy shift as a strategic way to reduce African vulnerability to external shocks.
Red Sea and Hormuz risks
Mudavadi warned that the overlap of the Red Sea crisis and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which handles 20 per cent of global oil, signals a looming crisis and potential challenge for African countries.
He appealed to the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to help de-escalate tensions and be mindful of the looming crisis facing African countries.

He emphasised that the Kenyan government remains committed to the safety and well-being of over 500,000 Kenyans living, working, and studying in the Middle East.
Warning on Sudan crisis
Mudavadi cautioned that Sudan's dire humanitarian crisis risks receding into "another era of a forgotten conflict" as global attention shifts to the Middle East, citing the experience during the Gaza and Russia-Ukraine conflicts.
““We must fast-track the transition to renewable energy and reimagine Africa’s future”
Mudavadi said Kenya remains a neutral and principled voice advocating for peace, restraint, humanitarian protection and international legality.
