Littler wins at The O2

Luke Littler was in tears after producing an 11-10 victory over Luke Humphries in the Premier League final at The O2, with the BBC describing it as one of the competition's greatest finals.

The BBC said the 19-year-old averaged 111 and landed 12 maximums, while world number two Humphries finished with an average of 105 and three 100+ checkouts.

Sky Sports reported that Littler beat Gerwyn Price 10-9 in the semi-final and then came through a last-leg decider against Humphries for an 11-10 win.

Sky Sports also said the match average was over 111 and that Littler took home £350,000, while runner-up Humphries collected £170,000.

The BBC added that Littler landed his final arrow in double 20 to end the epic showdown after a deciding leg was needed following a missed match dart.

Emotions, boos, and quotes

Littler told Sky Sports on stage, "It's been a rollercoaster," describing the first four weeks at the bottom and saying, "I had to pick myself up."

Sky Sports reported that the boos he has been receiving stemmed from an incident with Gian van Veen in Manchester when the Dutchman took issue with Littler celebrating a missed match dart.

In that same Sky Sports account, Littler said, "After Brighton and the incident in Manchester, I was sat at home saying to Faith [his partner] 'I don't want to do it any more, just the crowd every week'."

talkSPORT described Littler being consoled by Humphries after receiving the trophy as he began crying on stage before walking off.

The BBC also framed the final as revenge on Humphries, saying Littler exacted revenge and regained the Premier League in one of the competition's greatest finals.

Prize money and what’s next

Sky Sports said the win sees Littler take home £350,000 and that he now holds eight major titles including the World Darts Championship, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, World Grand Slam, Players Championship, UK Open, World Masters and now the Premier League.

The BBC reported that Littler wins £350,000 in prize money for winning the event and claims an extra £60,000 for his six night wins in the league phase.

Sky Sports also said the Premier League campaign had taken its toll with the crowd often against him, while it noted that all 59 possible legs were played on Finals Night with all three matches going all the way.

talkSPORT said the quartet had already guaranteed themselves £110,000 in prize money by reaching the play-offs, with tonight's winner scooping £350,000.

Sky Sports added that the victory came after a trilogy Premier League final between the world No 1 and No 2, with Littler taking glory in 2024 and Humphries hitting back in 2025.
