Gold Handover
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and Kurdistan Regional Government institutions moved to strengthen anti-corruption cooperation as the Kurdistan Region Security Council handed over 358 kilograms of confiscated gold to Iraq's Federal Commission of Integrity, according to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister's Office.
“Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council has announced the recovery of 375kg of gold connected to a case involving the arrest last month of the former Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs, Adnan Al Jumaili, on suspicion of corruption”
Kurdistan24 said Prime Minister Masrour Barzani instructed the KRG Ministry of Interior and the Kurdistan Region Security Council institutions to work closely with their federal counterparts in pursuing corruption cases and holding those responsible accountable.

The same cooperation framework was described as producing legal action against individuals accused of corruption, the arrest of suspects, and the recovery of significant amounts of cash, gold, real estate, and other public assets.
Kurdistan24 also tied the handover to a joint anti-corruption campaign led by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, and it cited a June 28 arrest in Erbil of Ziyad al-Janabi, Hind al-Abbasi, and Mohammed al-Mayahi wanted in connection with Iraq's widening anti-corruption campaign.
Operation Dawn Figures
Rudaw reported that Iraqi authorities confiscated 375 kilograms of gold on Monday amid a sweeping anti-corruption crackdown, with the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) saying the seizure included 358 kilograms recovered in coordination with the Kurdistan Region.
Rudaw added that an “additional 17 kilograms were seized in a separate investigative case,” and it said the recovery of gold was part of an investigation into Adnan al-Jumaili, deputy oil minister for refining affairs.

The same Rudaw account said Iraq's Operation Dawn, launched late June in coordination with Iraq's Federal Commission of Integrity, had resulted in the arrest of dozens of Iraqi politicians and lawmakers and the recovery of hundreds of millions of dollars in stolen assets and seized state properties.
Latest news from Azerbaijan, citing The New Region, said an investigative judge, Diaa Jaafar, stated that “358 kilograms of gold were recovered” in coordination with the Kurdistan Region and under the supervision of Judge Faiq Zaidan, and it said “17 kilograms were seized in another investigative case” to bring the total to 375 kilograms on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Raids, Detentions, and Assets
IraqiNews.com described nationwide anti-graft operations in Baghdad that included raids on former officials and members of parliament, saying security forces raided the residence of former MP Talal al-Zubaie in western Baghdad early Sunday morning and detained him and two of his sons on financial corruption charges.
“PM Barzani, Iraqi PM Strengthen Anti-Corruption Cooperation as KRG Hands Over 358 Kilograms of Seized Gold Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has instructed the KRG Ministry of Interior and the Kurdistan Region Security Council institutions to work closely with their federal counterparts in pursuing corruption cases and holding those responsible accountable”
The same IraqiNews.com account said troops stormed the residence of former minister Ahmed al-Asadi in the Green Zone, uncovering money and gold bars valued at 20 billion Iraqi dinars (approximately $15.2 million), and it added that authorities seized between $5 and $7 million and 13 gold bars after he managed to escape.
The National reported that more than $100 million in cash has been seized hidden in water bottles, walls and a drainpipe since Adnan Al Jumaili's arrest, and it said the case is part of a broader anti-corruption campaign launched by Prime Minister Ali Al Zaidi after he took office in May.
The National also warned that “Some suspects may escape punishment under an amended amnesty law if they return any outstanding funds,” while it said the Supreme Judicial Council stated the recovered gold was handed over to the Central Bank of Iraq as part of efforts to complete inquiries into the Al Jumaili case.
