Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a US-backed 15-point peace plan for Gaza during a cabinet meeting, saying “Israel does not accept the 15-point document” and that the IDF “will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed.”
“Israel does not accept the 15-point document. The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed.”
The BBC reported Netanyahu said there would be “no habrá un repliegue de sus fuerzas militares hasta que Hamás quede 'verdaderamente' desarmado,” framing the dispute around what he called “desarme auténtico” rather than a “desarme ficticio.”

TRT Español described Netanyahu’s rejection as a refusal to withdraw until Hamas is “desarmado” and said the plan was tied to a second phase of the ceasefire agreement that Tel Aviv has shown “poca disposición a aceptar.”
Acento added that Netanyahu insisted “Las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) no se retirarán hasta que Hamás se desarme,” and said he meant “todas sus armas: las pesadas, las menos pesadas, todas.”
Reacciones y presiones
The Guardian reported Netanyahu said he was confronting a “wave of rumours about Israeli weakness and Israeli withdrawals on all fronts” and rebuked US pressure to end wars “without Israel’s buy-in.”
In the same Guardian account, Nickolay Mladenov, the board’s high representative for Gaza, told Israeli television that “The option we are offering today is the only way forward that ensures this tragedy does not happen again.”

A BBC account said a Hamas official told the broadcaster that the group “reafirma su compromiso con lo que se acordó con los mediadores y la Junta de Paz respeto a la hoja de ruta.”
Acento quoted Basem Naim telling Reuters that mediators and the US “presionen a Netanyahu y a su Gobierno para que se adhieran a la hoja de ruta” while warning they were “poniendo en peligro la seguridad y la estabilidad de la región.”
Qué está en juego
The BBC said Israel has continued attacks against Gaza since the ceasefire began in October, and it described the war’s displacement scale, noting that “unas 1,9 millones de personas, el 90% de la población de Gaza, ha sido desplazada.”
“unas 1,9 millones de personas, el 90% de la población de Gaza, ha sido desplazada”
The Guardian reported that Netanyahu’s rejection was a blow to Trump’s desire to be seen as a broker of peace, and it said strikes killed 18 people “last Sunday” as Israel stepped up its bombing campaign after Trump announced the plan last month.
TRT Español stated that the “Línea Amarilla” that demarcates territory under Israeli control has expanded, saying it went from “aproximadamente la mitad de Gaza a casi el 65% del territorio para el mes de junio.”
El Mundo framed the immediate consequence as a shift in the next phase of the ceasefire mechanism, saying Netanyahu clarified that his army would not carry out attacks against Hamas “desde el pasado lunes por la noche” under US pressure while insisting the roadmap’s sequence required disarmament before withdrawal.
