Netanyahu rejects withdrawal
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Gaza Strip on Wednesday and said Israel does not plan to withdraw from territory its military controls, vowing to continue efforts to disarm Hamas and demilitarise the enclave.

Near the Yellow Line, the dividing line between positions of the occupation forces and areas still under resistance control, Netanyahu stressed that Tel Aviv does not intend to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and said Israeli forces will maintain their current deployment to ensure full field control.
Al Jazeera reported Netanyahu said, "we are not withdrawing," as he framed the next stages as intensified field work aimed at fully disarming the Gaza Strip.
AzerNews reported Netanyahu said, "We control the territory. We are not withdrawing. We are staying along this line," and added that Israel controls 60% of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Quds Newspaper said Netanyahu emphasized that the occupation army currently controls about 60% of the Gaza Strip and that military operations will not stop there.
Ceasefire dispute and voices
Arab News said Netanyahu’s remarks came as the United States called for a ceasefire in Gaza, urging both parties to halt hostilities and pursue negotiations, and it cited Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, and statements from the US State Department.
Arab News also reported that Hamas condemned the continued Israeli military presence and called for a full withdrawal as a precondition for any lasting ceasefire, while the United Nations spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric called for restraint and renewed efforts to reach a negotiated settlement.
In a statement carried by Al Jazeera, Netanyahu’s position was tied to continuing military pressure, and Al-Quds Newspaper said Netanyahu attacked his political opponents, specifically Benny Gantz, reaffirming his rejection of what he described as cries of “surrender and withdrawal.”

Emigration plan and stakes
Alongside Netanyahu’s insistence on staying along the Yellow Line, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz said Israel has prepared plans to move Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip and is waiting for U.S. approval and clarity on where they could be relocated.

Türkiye Today reported Katz told a conference hosted by Israeli news site Ynet and newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, "There is no real solution for Gaza in the end without this migration," and said the Israeli government was "organized and prepared to get them out—by sea, by air, by every way possible."
Enlace Judío reported Katz said plans to facilitate massive emigration of Palestinians from Gaza remain under discussion and have been "frozen" by U.S. President Donald Trump, adding that "80 percent want to emigrate" and that Hamas does not allow it.
CBC News said Katz described the move as "voluntary emigration" and quoted him saying, "There is no real solution for Gaza in the end without this migration," while also describing the plan as widely condemned as forced displacement and ethnic cleansing.
The same CBC News report included a direct rejection from a Gaza resident, with Umm Yusuf Shabat telling a freelance videographer with CBC News, "We were born and raised in Gaza, we will die and be buried in Gaza," as she said, "There is no immigration by any means."
