Republicans Close Dallas Midterm Convention With JD Vance Keynote And Donald Trump Closing Remarks

Republicans closed their first Republican midterm convention in Dallas, Texas at the American Airlines Center, with Vice President JD Vance giving the keynote on the final night and President Donald Trump delivering closing remarks after promising a $5,000 dividend for every American adult if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate.

ABC7 New York reported that Trump concluded with a final plea: “Go out and vote,” and turned the microphone over to opera performer Christopher Macchio, who belted out a rendition of “America the Beautiful” as balloons fell.

ABC News said Vance’s keynote speech at the American Airlines Center included a focus on family values and “birthright,” with Vance telling the crowd, “I’ve thought a lot, ladies and gentlemen, about what is the birthright of this newest of Americans, my little boy.”

In the final remarks coverage, ABC7 New York said Trump claimed the stock market had hit 80 highs and said the job market is strong, while also reporting that U.S. oil futures topped $100 a barrel as worries about the Iran war persist and that the interest rate on 10-year U.S. Treasury notes on Thursday rose above 4.9%.
