North Kordofan attack
A unit linked to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out an armed attack on villages in the Al-Marra area west of Bara city in North Kordofan, killing 27 people including elderly residents, according to the Sudan Doctors Network statement on X.
“Khartoum - A health official in the Federal Ministry of Health, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed the deteriorating health conditions of citizens in the western areas of Barra city in North Kordofan state, confirming that the situation is worsening amid difficulty delivering medical aid, and that more than 200,000 people are at risk of outbreaks of diseases such as measles and cholera”
The Eastleigh Voice said the attack took place on Thursday and targeted civilian communities in an area described as having no military presence, while the Sudan Doctors Network said: "A RSF tracking unit carried out an armed attack on villages in the Al-Marra area west of Bara city, resulting in the killing of 27 people, including elderly individuals,".

In the same reporting, the Eastleigh Voice quoted the Network warning that the continuation of attacks on civilians and safe villages would exacerbate the humanitarian disaster and push more families toward displacement, suffering, and loss of livelihoods.
The Eastleigh Voice also placed the broader conflict in context, saying the war erupted in April 2023 after long-standing tensions between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF escalated into a full-scale conflict.
El-Obeid under UN scrutiny
The UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution condemning escalating violence by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of El-Obeid, North Kordofan State, and ordered an urgent investigation into abuses committed there.
The resolution, tabled by Great Britain and backed by 14 other countries, demanded an end to attacks on civilian areas and called for a humanitarian truce paving the way to an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian aid access, and stronger protections for civilians.
On the ground, Mohamed Faisal, spokesperson for the Sudan Doctors Network, told Al Qahera News that RSF drone attacks on El-Obeid have intensified in recent weeks, targeting critical infrastructure including the city’s main power station.
Faisal said the strikes also hit a shelter housing displaced people, killing two and wounding several others, and hit a secondary school, injuring eight female students, while the UN said Fifteen documented drone strikes on El-Obeid and its surroundings in three weeks last month killed at least 45 civilians and wounded 41 others.
Cholera and measles risk
Sudan Doctors Network warned that cholera and measles threaten approximately 200,000 people, including 20,000 children, in areas west of Bara city in North Kordofan State due to outbreaks and severe shortages of food and medicine.

JINHAGENCY reported that the warning came alongside Dar Hamar Emergency Room’s announcement of 30 deaths and 800 cholera infections in West Kordofan State since the outbreak began on June 20, with the disease spreading in the localities of Wad Bandeh and Al-Nuhud and their neighboring villages.
The Network said field information points to more than 100 measles cases recorded among children in a number of health centers, in addition to 45 cholera cases, and warned that some health facilities are operating without any medical supplies.
In parallel, Al-Jazeera Net reported that a health official in the Federal Ministry of Health said more than 200,000 people are at risk of outbreaks of diseases such as measles and cholera, and that more than 200 measles cases and 45 cholera cases among children were recorded by Sudan Doctors Network monitoring teams.
