Russia Resumes Strikes On Kyiv After Three-Day Pause, Killing 3 And Injuring 16

Russia resumed strikes on Kyiv early Tuesday after a three-day pause, with explosions reported across the capital and air defenses activated, according to Kyiv authorities and AFP journalists.

The Kyiv City Military Administration urged residents to seek shelter and reported that buildings were hit in Kyiv as well as in the Boryspil and Fastiv districts, while an AFP journalist saw plumes of smoke and the glow of a fire.

The Kyiv Independent said the overnight attack killed 3 people and injured 16, and it described damage to residential buildings, a school, warehouses, and vehicles as the truce expired.T

CNN reported that Russia pounded Kyiv with missiles and drones on Tuesday morning, killing three people and wounding 16, and it cited Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi for the figures.

In a statement, Russia’s Defense Ministry said it launched “a massive strike using ground and air-based precision-guided weapons and attack drones,” targeting “facilities belonging to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, logistics and warehousing centres.”
