Three on Leave
Three U.S. Secret Service officials were placed on administrative leave amid an internal investigation into potential misconduct, with the agency confirming the action and saying the three were non-law enforcement personnel.

MS NOW reported that the officials included the Secret Service’s chief of communications, Anthony Guglielmi, and that the Secret Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility was investigating the matter.
The Hill said the Office of Professional Responsibility was conducting the probe and that details around the investigation were not immediately clear, while the agency declined to disclose the nature of the alleged misconduct.
In a statement carried by CBS News, the Secret Service said the three were placed on leave “pending an investigation into potential misconduct,” and it said the matter was being investigated by the Office of Professional Responsibility.
Integrity and Denials
CBS News reported that as part of the probe, the impacted staffers lost their security clearances and access to their work devices, a step officials said was common practice in internal probes.
Gregg Bernstein, a spokesperson for Guglielmi, told CBS News that “Anthony Guglielmi is a professional of deep integrity whose decades-long public record advocating for local, state and federal agencies speaks for itself.”
The Independent said Guglielmi had previously explained that a member of Vice President JD Vance’s security team was being evaluated under an internal probe and a possible criminal investigation into compromised “operational and information security.”
In the same Independent account, the Secret Service spokesman Nate Herring said the agency was “aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” while adding that “Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence.”

The investigation into the three communications-office officials is unfolding as the Secret Service faces continued scrutiny over protective procedures and past security concerns involving President Donald Trump.

The Hill tied the latest administrative leaves to a prior episode in which a Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President Vance was put on administrative leave for allegedly leaking sensitive information, following reporting from MS NOW about frustrations from Vance’s security detail over last-minute trips and assignments.
U.S. News & World Report said the Office of Professional Responsibility began a review process on Tuesday and that, with the opening of the investigation, the officials lost their security clearances and would not have access to work devices while the review is underway.
CBS News also reported that the Secret Service was in the spotlight after security concerns involving the new, Qatari-gifted Air Force One, and it said Trump was advised to leave last month’s NATO summit in Turkey on an older Air Force One due to a threat from Iran and its proxies to fire a missile at the presidential plane.
