Evacuation Over Threat
Israeli security agency Shin Bet confirmed it carried out an emergency operation to remove Yair Netanyahu from Miami in December 2025 after assessing what it described as a "significant threat" to his safety.

The New York Post said Yair Netanyahu, 35, was urgently evacuated from the United States due to the threat, and it described Shin Bet as confirming the "significant threat" without providing additional details.
The Express Tribune reported Shin Bet head David Zini secretly travelled to Washington for talks with FBI officials on “sensitive issues,” coming days after Yair Netanyahu was ordered to return to Israel over the same "significant threat."
Skepticism and Questions
The Arabic-language report Alوقائع الإخبارية said tension rose within Israeli security circles as skepticism grew about Shin Bet’s account of the urgent evacuation of Yair Netanyahu from the United States.
It quoted security expert Yossi Milo, who said ambiguity shrouds the stance of American security agencies, which have not issued any official comment confirming any hostile activity detected in that region.
The same report pointed to a time gap of up to eight months between the alleged threat and its public disclosure, and it said the lack of tangible proof of a real and immediate danger cast the official narrative into question.
In parallel, the International Business Times UK said officials have not publicly disclosed intelligence indicating an imminent attack, and it described the confirmed Israeli case as an intelligence assessment that resulted in an emergency evacuation.
Regional Tensions and Fallout
The Express Tribune linked the Shin Bet evacuation story to renewed regional tensions after US forces struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, killing two people and injuring two others, according to Iranian media.

It said Iran later announced retaliatory attacks on sites used by US forces in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it struck the King Hussein and Azraq airbases in Jordan with ballistic missiles and targeted Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE with explosive drones.
The Express Tribune also quoted Iran’s army saying, “Since early this morning, the Islamic Republic of Iran Army has targeted locations housing US military helicopters and personnel at Al Minhad base in the UAE with dozens of explosive drones,” and it described the attack as retaliation for the killing of IRGC members and civilians in Sunday’s US strike on Larak Island.
Against that backdrop, Le Parisien said Shin Bet confirmed there was “a threat of significant harm to Yair Netanyahu’s integrity” and that it decided to exfiltrate him urgently, with his security team, to bring him back to Israel.
