Record 241 at Headingley
Sunrisers Leeds launched a record-breaking Hundred assault at Headingley, posting 241-2 off 100 balls against London Spirit after Mitchell Marsh battered 73 off 37 balls with seven sixes.

Ryan Rickelton and Marsh set a record stand of 148 for the first wicket from just 65 balls, and Harry Brook then struck 55 off 18 deliveries as the innings reached the top of The Hundred’s six-year scoring history.
London Spirit were never in the hunt, finishing with 204-6 and losing by 37 runs, with Jonny Bairstow dismissed for a second-ball duck as the chase began.
The BBC’s match figures captured the key batting totals, listing Rickelton 94* (42), Marsh 76 (37), and Brook 55 (18) for Sunrisers Leeds, with David Willey 83* (46) the mainstay of Spirit’s reply.
Brook, Rickelton, and praise
After Marsh was out, Brook’s 15-ball fifty drove the momentum, with the BBC noting he whacked five sixes and five fours and even surpassed the previous highest team total of 226.
In the same innings, Rickelton was left stranded short of a century as he was starved of the strike at the close, while Spirit’s bowlers wilted and the chase slipped to 44-4.
Sky Sports highlighted the chase context, saying Spirit did post 204-6 but it was only good enough for a 37-run defeat, and it quoted Rickelton saying, "Both teams batted incredibly well."
On BBC Two, Michael Vaughan called Brook’s hitting "That was a masterclass on how to strike the white ball," as he described the mix of finesse and brute power on a flat pitch.

The result kept Sunrisers Leeds in play-off contention, with the BBC stating the win takes them to fourth in the table and leaves London Spirit struggling in seventh.

Sky Sports added that the victory moved Sunrisers up to fourth and level on points with third-placed MI London, while Spirit remained with just one victory after five games.
Looking ahead, the BBC set out Wednesday’s schedule with four games, starting with Manchester Super Giants hosting Welsh Fire at Old Trafford at 11:30 BST and the men’s game following at 15:00.
