Double deal talks
Tottenham are working on a deal to sign Savinho and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City, with The Athletic reporting that Spurs’ talks with City are advancing but nothing is finalised.

The New York Times said Savinho, the 22-year-old winger, was not part of Enzo Maresca’s 21-player squad for City’s 3-0 Community Shield final defeat by Arsenal on Sunday, while Marmoush, 27, came on as a second-half substitute for Erling Haaland.

The New York Times also reported that Tottenham have spent a combined £229.5million on Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke as they pursue the double swoop.
In parallel, Football London said Tottenham could have to spend more than £150m to sign both Omar Marmoush and Savinho before the September 1 deadline, citing The Times and valuing Savinho at £85m.
Costs, readiness, quotes
Football London reported that City rejected a bid from Spurs for Savinho last summer and that Savinho ended up signing a new contract at the Etihad Stadium, while it also said Marmoush’s City future is uncertain after a 2025/26 season that included nine goals and three assists in 39 appearances.
Sky Sports News, via Ben Ransom, said both players are “essentially surplus to requirements at Manchester City,” adding that “City would need to replace these players” and that it would aim to replace two.

Sky Sports also framed the timing as urgent, saying “the transfer window is closing in less than a fortnight” with “big positions to fill so late in the window.”
In the same Sky Sports report, Spurs’ search for attackers was linked to Roberto De Zerbi’s “bomba” promise, with De Zerbi telling football.london that “Now we have another bomba.”
Window pressure and next steps
Tottenham’s pursuit of Savinho and Marmoush sits alongside other forward targets and squad needs, with Sky Sports saying Spurs want to sign Savinho, Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo and a centre-forward before the deadline, while Marmoush is also one of their options.

The New York Times reported that Marmoush started eight times in the Premier League last term, finishing with eight goals in 36 appearances, and that he played five times for Egypt at the World Cup as they reached the last 16.
Football London said Spurs’ summer spending already includes around £230m on Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, while it added that Tottenham kickstart their Premier League campaign with a trip to Brentford on Saturday.
With the window closing, Football London said Tottenham might need to spend more than £150m to complete both deals before the September 1 deadline, while Sky Sports said City will aim to replace departing players “with less than two weeks to go in the window.”
