Dallas RNC Midterm Launch
President Trump will head to the GOP’s convention in Dallas next week, with the Republican National Committee describing it as the first midterm convention in modern American history scheduled for September 9 and 10 at the American Airlines Center.

The RNC released a full schedule featuring 109 speakers and hourly programming blocks focused on tax relief, border security, public safety, and economic policies across both nights, with Vice President JD Vance expected to address attendees.
FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth said Trump is expected to deliver the closing presidential keynote during the final hour of the convention, from 8 to 9 p.m. CT on Thursday, Sept. 10, after hours of 56 items and speakers.
The event is intended to energize Republican voters ahead of the November 2026 elections, and El Paso Times reported that C-SPAN will provide the only complete, uninterrupted and commercial-free television coverage, with livestreaming on C-SPAN’s YouTube channel on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10.
MAGA Inc. and Iran War
Ahead of the inaugural event, The Hill reported that Trump-affiliated super PAC MAGA Inc. announced it was committing $10 million to the Texas Senate race, sending the funds to Del Ray Media, with $5 million dedicated to supporting Paxton and $5 million for attacking his opponent James Talarico.
The Hill also said Trump told reporters the PAC has $1 billion at its disposal, while reports from June estimated its finances at around $400 million, and it plans to spend between $400 and $500 million for November’s midterms.
On the Iran war, The Hill reported that the Trump administration attempted to calm concerns about the monthslong conflict, with Vice President Vance telling reporters this week he “wouldn’t call it a war.”
The Hill further linked the convention’s backdrop to rising frustration among voters with the president’s handling of the economy and the Iran war, and it said gas prices have hit record highs as the administration sought to lower U.S. fuel costs through a new deal with Venezuela.
Fake Site Redirects to Epstein
As the Dallas convention approached, NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth reported that a fake website for the Republican National midterm convention, gopdallas2026.com, was redirecting visitors to the U.S. Department of Justice's Epstein Library on Friday.

NBC 5 said the fake website included a statement at the bottom: "This website is an independent informational resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Republican National Committee (RNC), the 2026 RNC Midterm Convention, the American Airlines Center, or any official convention entity."
The New York Times described the episode as a spoof that redirected users to “justice.gov/epstein,” while noting that the real convention site at gopconvention.com remained operational.
The New York Times also said the impostor site appeared in Google’s results with a preview promising “details about the 2026 RNC Midterm Convention at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, Sept. 9-10 including registration, VIP experiences.”
