TeleSUR said La Guaira, about 30 kilometers from Caracas, was the hardest-hit state along with the capital, as Venezuela’s Government mobilized comprehensive relief efforts.

The News Mill added that efforts were hindered by a shortage of heavy equipment and persistent aftershocks as the critical rescue window narrowed.

Aid, vigils, and messages

In Brazil and worldwide, public figures and organizations directed support toward Venezuela’s earthquake victims, including Neymar’s donation of USD 250,000 for emergency rescue and humanitarian efforts.

The News Mill quoted Neymar saying, “My heart goes out to the people of Venezuela,” as he expressed hope the contribution would provide strength and relief to affected families.
