Draft To Michigan
Yaxel Lendeborg withdrew from the 2025 NBA Draft to transfer from UAB to Michigan. He was swayed by Michigan's promise to develop him, a seven-figure NIL offer, and the allure of contending for a national championship. CBS Sports reported the NIL package was believed to be in the neighborhood of $3 million.
Michigan Transfer Portal
Michigan coach Dusty May has struck transfer portal gold for the second year in a row. Lendeborg was the first five-star to commit through the portal. Michigan's stock surged from 25-1 to 17-1 as a top national title contender.
NBA Prospects and NIL
Playing in the Big Ten and increasing draft stock were key factors in Lendeborg's decision. NIL has changed the landscape, allowing players to remain in school and earn seven-figure deals. 247Sports ranked Lendeborg as a five-star compared to only Larry Legend.
