Retrial After Hung Jury
British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly will face a retrial on three rape charges in Australia after a jury could not reach verdicts on those counts following an eight-day trial in Perth.

The BBC said the entertainer, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was cleared of several sexual assault offences but could not reach a decision on others, and it reported that he was found guilty of two counts of assault for which sentencing will happen after the retrial.
ABC News & Headlines reported that the jury acquitted him of raping a young woman after a nightclub performance in Perth, but found him guilty of two counts of assaulting the woman in 2024.
The case centers on allegations that the 20-year-old complainant, who cannot legally be named, said the encounter became non-consensual at a hotel in Perth’s CBD after the club night at Bar 120 in Hillarys, while Barrientos testified he did not hit the woman or hold her by the throat and believed the sexual acts were consensual.
Court Arguments and Bail
In court on Friday, prosecutor Danielle Clarke told the BBC that the complainant is willing to give evidence again in a retrial, and the BBC reported that she described Barrientos as an "entitled" man with a "moderate degree of fame" who violated the fan "in the most intrusive way possible".
The BBC said Barrientos denied all 10 charges and that his defence lawyer argued the accuser’s evidence was full of "inconsistencies, embellishments and outright lies".
Herts Advertiser reported that Barrientos will appear in court again next week, and it said an application to vary bail conditions will be heard on August 27 with the case listed for retrial at the District Court on September 25.
Herts Advertiser also stated that Western Australia’s courts confirmed bail has previously been set at a personal undertaking of 100,000 Australian dollars (£52,340), and it reported that no sentencing date has been set for the guilty verdicts.
Fresh Drug Charge and Next Steps
Beyond the retrial, Herts Advertiser reported that Barrientos has been hit with a fresh charge of possessing cannabis after an alleged offence on May 20 while he was on bail.

It said the 30-year-old faces a hearing at Mandurah Magistrates’ Court near Perth on September 1, and it reported that the prosecution alleged he assaulted a 20-year-old woman in his hotel room while touring Australia in September 2024.
ABC News & Headlines reported that Barrientos, who is on bail, will appear in court again next week and that sentencing on the two assault convictions would happen after the retrial, the court heard.
The BBC added that a retrial date has not been set and that Barrientos will next appear in court 27 August for an application to vary his bail, with sentencing for the two guilty charges to occur after the re-trial.
