The Times of Israel's briefing says West Bank violence comes 'from both sides'. It never says the territory is occupied, though the ICJ has ruled the occupation unlawful.

  1. Presents an occupation as two equal sides

    Minor

“the greater question of ongoing West Bank violence — from both sides”

    Why this matters
The phrase "from both sides" presents West Bank violence as two equal parties exchanging blows. Nowhere does the article say that the West Bank is occupied.
    The impression it gives
A reader takes the West Bank to be a place where two comparable sides fight, not a territory under an occupation the ICJ has ruled unlawful.
    The context
Reuters places the attack amid escalating attacks by Israeli settlers, and the outlet's own briefing list records a rare arrest of extremist settlers. The ICJ found the occupation unlawful. The words occupied and occupation appear nowhere in the article.
