2 children among 3 killed in Israeli army attacks in Gaza despite ceasefire
Despite a ceasefire, attacks occurred across the Gaza Strip Saturday, Anadolu reports. Medical and eyewitness sources said three Palestinians were killed — including two teenage boys, Salman Zakaria, 14, and Mohammed Youssef, 15, who were killed by a bomb near Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Beit Lahia project area; eyewitnesses said an Israeli drone struck an area the army had reportedly withdrawn from under the agreement. Several others were wounded in an Israeli strike on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia (also said to be an area of withdrawal), a man was injured by gunfire in Beit Lahia’s Al-Salateen area, another man was killed in a strike on Qizan al-Najjar south of Khan Younis, and a man was wounded in the head by gunfire in central Khan Younis. Witnesses reported an Israeli quadcopter opened fire near the Jasser Building intersection in Gaza City’s center. The article says that since October 2023 Israel’s offensive — described in the piece as “brutal” — has left Gaza in ruins and, by the cited figures, killed more than 71,600 people (most reportedly women and children) and injured over 171,300. It also reports that despite a ceasefire beginning Oct. 10, Israel has continued attacks that the Gaza Health Ministry says have killed 481 Palestinians and wounded 1,313.
