A beloved wife in Florida was crushed to death by a falling tree while lying beside her husband during Hurricane Isaias , leaving him trapped with only his Apple Watch to call for help. Jenn Biggs Williams, 57, was killed Saturday when a tree crashed through the roof of the couple's Pensacola home, trapping her husband of 10 years, Joey, underneath it. Joey's legs were crushed and he was unable to reach his phone, but managed to crawl out from beneath the wreckage after 20 to 30 minutes and use his Apple Watch to contact his son as the deadly storm battered the area, according to NBC6 . The southeast of the US has been ravaged by Hurricane Isaias after it hit on Friday night, leaving four people dead and others injured. Joey's son told the outlet that his father texted him in the middle of the storm, despite the family losing power. When he asked his dad the extent of the damage, Joey told him the devastating news: 'My wife is gone.' The heartbroken stepson said he spent the following morning cutting down fallen trees while struggling to come to terms with the tragedy. 'I've been dropping trees all morning, crying and carrying on,' he said. 'And me, I'm just angry.' Just 30 minutes later, its winds had fallen to 85mph, but the storm continued to wreak havoc along the Gulf Coast. Terrifying footage emerged of the hurricane's destruction, showing the roof of the Rest and Relax Inn in Pensacola being ripped clean off by ferocious winds and sent hurtling away with debris as trees violently thrashed behind it. More than 418,000 homes and businesses across Florida and Alabama lost electricity as the storm closed in, according to PowerOutage.us. Florida reported the most outages, with around 300,000 customers facing a night without power. When first responders arrived at the home, Williams was unconscious and had no pulse, according to NBC6. Joey later detailed the horrifying moment the tree came crashing down in an interview with NewsNation , in which he described his wife's death as 'pretty instant.'
