Gorkha’s most senior official, Dharmendra Kumar Mishra said: “We have asked villagers living along the river banks downstream to evacuate and remain safe.” Mishra added that two suspension bridges had been swept away and a hydroelectric prject had been damaged by the floods. Advertisement A wall of surging sludge has also devastated a critical highway bridge which connected the Gorkha district with the neighbouring Dhading district, said Uprety. Six peope at risk of being killed by a landslide in Jagat have also been evacuated, said Prime Minister Balendra Shah. People have also fled their homes in the riverside town of Arughat following government warnings, according to social media posts. It comes after a horror wall of mud and water ravaged through parts of Nepal in August – leaving 1,457 people dead. More than 5,000 people are still missing after huge landslides swept across the Himalyan country. The horror floods unfolded after a glacier bropke off and melted into a tributary off the river Trishuli. The extra water broke the banks of the river and engulfed entire towns in water and mud.
