Farage falls behind Badenoch in latest YouGov poll

There’s been plenty of talk about a ‘Badenoch bounce’ – but could today’s YouGov poll finally prove there’s something behind it? The latest survey puts the Tories on 23 per cent, just one point behind Labour. Meanwhile, Reform has slipped to 21 per cent – the first time Nigel Farage’s party has fallen behind the Conservatives since 2024. The Tories are already rejoicing at the news – however short-lived their celebrations may prove. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp declared: ‘Latest poll – neck and neck between Conservative and Labour.’ Shadow Culture, Media and Sport Minister Louie French added: ‘Something is happening out there latest…’ Of course, no one should read too much into a single survey. The figures, well within the margin of error, suggest the Burnham bounce has proved rather less exciting than the left might have hoped. But the Tories will relish overtaking Farage, whose party is struggling to regain its footing amid questions over its finances. As for the Lib Dems and Greens, languishing on 12 and 11 per cent respectively, their leaders might want to reflect on just how badly things are going. With no upward movement and plenty of potential for further voter defections, neither party has much to celebrate. Is it any wonder the boob-whisperer and that oaf Ed Davey are stuck in the doldrums?
