Religious ex-IDF general Ofer Winter touts new political party, adds activist Yoseph Haddad to list

Brig.-Gen. (res.) Ofer Winter officially launched his new party on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming October election.At the launch, Winter announced that Arab-Israeli activist Yoseph Haddad would join his list. Haddad's introduction to the party included both Arabic and Hebrew, and he highlighted the honor he felt serving Israel through the military and through hasbara, and said it was time to join the fight on a new front.Winter announced his list by highlighting the cities his members came from, including journalist Netali Shem-Tov from Metula and Sigal Kroanik, the Local Security Coordinator of Be'eri, who lost her husband on October 7.From Neve Ilan, Winter selected Eran Ben-Ari, a lawyer who previously served in the Defense Ministry and the State Attorney's Office.Winter also welcomed Davidi Ben Zion, a reservist who serves as Deputy Mayor of the Judea and Samaria Regional Council, and Colonel (res.) Eli Gino, who served as Golani Battalion commander during Operation Protective Edge.From Jerusalem, Winter tapped Peler Hesen-Nahoum, the city's former deputy mayor, who made aliya about 25 years ago. Mother of fallen soldier Yaakov Deri, Lali, also announced her entry into the political sphere by joining the party.The list also included economist Ronen Bondero and 'Generation of Victory' founder Aviv Ezra, who both fought on October 7 and served hundreds of days of reserve duty during the war.This is a developing story.
