This article can be challenged with The Jerusalem Post's editorial-standards team.

  • Amend the headline to distinguish between IDF claims and independently verified facts, for example: "IDF says it killed Hamas commander who held former Israeli hostages, in Gaza City strikes."
  • Add explicit verification caveats wherever the IDF's characterisation of the killed individuals (their affiliation, rank, and alleged conduct) is reported, making clear these claims originate with the Israeli military and have not been independently confirmed.
