Israel has killed at least four Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, a new sign that the regime is not willing to abide by the terms of a ceasefire reached a year ago and was aimed at ending its genocidal war on the besieged Palestinian territory.

Medics in Gaza said on Tuesday that a couple living in Gaza City were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment block in the city, which is located in central Gaza.

A 17-year-old boy in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, and another person in the Zeitoun suburb, located east of Gaza City, were killed by Israeli gunfire, reports said.

Palestinian news agency Wafa said the Israeli military had also carried out artillery attacks in other areas south of Khan Younis, but there were as yet no concrete reports of casualties.

According to media reports, there has been a visible surge in Israeli attacks across Gaza overnight and into the early hours of Tuesday.

The attacks had left massive destruction in residential areas, with Israeli drones and fighter jets hovering and bombing central areas in the early hours of Tuesday.

Palestinian resistance movement Hamas strongly slammed the new Israeli attacks. "The continued targeting and daily killing of civilians in Gaza reveals the occupation's insistence on the genocide and its undermining of the ceasefire agreement."

"The criminal Zionist occupation army continues to target defenseless civilians in residential neighborhoods and tents of the displaced, with more people martyred and wounded every day, especially children," it said in a Tuesday statement.

Hamas noted that the attacks are a "flagrant and recurring violation of the ceasefire agreement and in disregard for the efforts of the mediators and sponsoring states, exposing the insistence of the government of war criminal Netanyahu on continuing its aggression and keeping our people subjected to killing and danger."

Hamas also warned that the regime's continued siege and restrictions on essential supplies and humanitarian aid were worsening conditions in Gaza, increasing the suffering of displaced families and threatening to deepen food insecurity.

The group called on mediators and guarantor states to pressure Israel to halt its attacks, respect the ceasefire agreement, allow the unrestricted entry of aid and essential goods, and lift the siege.

It also urged the UN and international humanitarian organizations to intensify their response to Gaza’s needs, resist Israeli pressure and take urgent action to address the catastrophic consequences of the war.

More than 1,500 people have been killed since the Israeli regime and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, which controls Gaza, agreed to a ceasefire mediated by regional countries in October 2025 to end an Israeli genocidal war on Gaza that had killed nearly 75,000 Palestinians since October 7, 2023.

Numerous reports and investigations have shown that Israel has repeatedly violated the truce while seeking to expand its atrocities to other areas in occupied Palestine, including the West Bank, where it has allowed more violence by illegal settlers against Palestinians.

“We’re supposed to be in a ceasefire period, but honestly, we are not seeing a ceasefire or anything. The war is still going on, assassinations are continuing, and the shelling has not stopped,” said Mahmoud Yassin, a Gaza City resident whose brother was killed in the Israeli regime’s latest bombardment of the city.
