The politician blasted the Prime Minister's 'disastrous sanctions' as pro-Palestine protesters prepare to take to the streets on Wednesday (October 7), which marks the third anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel. Richard stated: "I'm very concerned because not only is it a collapse of Israel and the United Kingdom, but I've seen overnight that it's leading to a collapse in the relationship between the UK and the United States. The GB News guest claimed: "A very senior US administration official has confirmed that the US is now looking at retaliatory sanctions against the UK, France and Norway, because of the sanctions that those countries are imposing against Israel . "In his furious rant, Richard fumed: "I just believe we've got an antisemitic hard left bunch of socialists ruining this country that are led by the likes of Burnham and [Ed] Miliband ." They have no idea what they're doing, and as of overnight, it looks like the US are considering retaliatory sanctions against the United Kingdom because of Miliband's stance against Israel ." Richard continued: "That's the consequence when you've got someone like him running the foreign office." This comes after Burnham confirmed that companies will be banned from helping to construct or sell properties in the settlements, as part of sanctions being coordinated with France and Canada. Miliband announced the measure in the Commons, accusing the Israeli government of turning a blind eye to the "ethnic cleansing" of Palestinians. He also said the British Government believed the occupation of the West Bank as a whole was unlawful, going beyond the previous position that only described the settlements themselves as illegal. Speaking on the import ban on goods from illegal settlements, he added: "I do not believe the British people want us supporting the occupation by accepting products from settlements in our shops and supermarkets." Innocent Palestinians, including children, continue to be killed in Gaza. And there is still a humanitarian crisis, with far too little aid getting in. "That's why we are acting, and why Britain will continue to act in support of our values." Now, the University of London Coalition, a group which brings together students from universities across the capital, have urged its members to "take to the streets" on Wednesday and "demand an end to the Palestinian genocide". However, as October 7 marks three years since the attacks on Israel, Education Secretary Lucy Powell called on the organisers "to show compassion and respect for others" by moving the protest to another date. She said: "The anniversary of October 7 will bring immense pain to Jewish communities across the country, and they should be able to remember those affected by the attacks free from intimidation, harassment, or abuse, including on university campuses." As the Police have said they cannot ban the demonstration, Burnham has assured Britain’s Jewish community, "we stand with you," in a statement and pledged that his Government is "committed to protecting our citizens from vile hatred".
