Israeli forces have abducted two men and shot and wounded a child in the West Bank, while settlers raided homes in several provinces across the occupied territory. The regime’s forces shot the child in the foot during raids in the West Bank near the Kafr Saba neighborhood in the northern city of Qalqilya on Saturday. The Palestinian WAFA news agency reported that, in separate raids, the forces abducted two men from their homes, one in Hebron and another in Taybeh, east of Ramallah.

The Israeli forces also stole the second man’s vehicle. Israeli troops in Hebron raided another house, confining the family and ransacking their home. Hundreds of Israeli military-backed settlers entered the city’s Old City and pressured shopkeepers to close their businesses. Settlers attacked a Palestinian home on Al-Shuhada Street, smashing its windows. Settlers attacked olive harvesters west of Jenin while they were working on their farms.

The settlers stole a tractor and the harvested crops. They also attacked and assaulted a Palestinian man and stole his belongings. During raids in Dura al-Qara and Ni’lin in the Ramallah area, clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israeli forces. In Tulkarem province, located in the northwestern West Bank, Israeli forces raided four towns, disrupted traffic, and fired stun grenades. No injuries or abductions were reported. Additional raids were reported by Voice of Palestine radio, with attacks in towns and villages in the Bethlehem, Nablus, Tubas, Jenin, and Ramallah areas.

On October 26, UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned “the violence caused by record numbers of attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in 2026.” The number of settler attacks has increased each year since 2023, rising to more than 1,800 last year, according to the UN’s humanitarian aid office. There were about 190 attacks per month in the first four months of 2026, putting the West Bank on a trajectory to reach more than 2,000 attacks by the end of the year.

The UN documented 457 settler attacks against Palestinians in October.

About this analysis

Press TV reports a night of Israeli occupation force raids and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank: a child shot in the foot in Qalqilya, two men detained, homes ransacked and olive harvesters attacked near Jenin. It names who did each act and sources its figures to WAFA and the UN. Nothing in it misleads the reader.

What it gets right

  • “Israeli forces have abducted two men and shot and wounded a child in the West Bank”

It names the actor in the shooting and the detentions rather than writing that a child was wounded during an operation.

  • “Hundreds of Israeli military-backed settlers entered the city’s Old City and pressured shopkeepers to close their businesses.”

It states the army's backing of the settlers, which Anadolu also reports as entry under army protection, instead of presenting the settlers as acting alone.

  • “Settlers attacked a Palestinian home on Al-Shuhada Street, smashing its windows.”

It says plainly who attacked whom and what they did, with no talk of clashes or tensions.
