Laura Kuenssberg was at a party conference when she went to an arranged meeting with the minister in his hotel room (Picture: Euan Cherry/Getty Images) BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg has revealed she met a government minister in his hotel room where he was sprawled on the bed with his partner. The former political editor was at a party conference when she went to an arranged meeting with the minister in his hotel room. She had expected to find him and his adviser, but instead found him on the bed with his wife.

When asked if the couple were expecting a threesome, Ms Kuenssberg said: ‘Well, maybe they were and maybe they weren’t. As I say, maybe they weren’t and I got it completely wrong. It was very uncomfortable.’ She described another encounter, in which she met another government minister, who was married, for coffee to discuss work. But they instead invited her to the theatre and for ‘a little grope’. Ms Kuenssberg has revealed the ‘creepy’ interactions she has had with politicians, including one kissing her on the forehead (Picture: Leon Neal/Getty Images) The journalist was the political editor of BBC News from 2015 to 2022 (Picture: Peter Macdiarmid/Getty Images) Politicians have also greeted the journalist with ‘kisses on the forehead’ and texted her about the clothes she was wearing, forcing her to stop contact with them.

She told The Times: ‘People do things. And human behaviour is a complicated thing, and sometimes people behave badly. ‘There is still a concern in Westminster that particularly young people starting out are sometimes very vulnerable.’ She revealed the suspected threesome encounter in her first book, Pay Attention. Ms Kuenssberg, 50, was the political editor of BBC News from 2015 to 2022. She was the first woman to hold the position. In 2022 she began her titular show ‘Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg’.
