Iranian army orders ground forces to maintain highest combat readiness amid tensions with US

No framing issues found.

Iran’s Army Ground Forces commander Brig. Gen. Jahanshahi has ordered military unit commanders to maintain the highest level of combat readiness, warning that negligence during wartime could have serious consequences, Tasnim news agency reported Friday. “In wartime conditions, any negligence or carelessness can carry heavy costs,” Jahanshahi said, according to Tasnim. He stressed that maintaining effective operational readiness requires continuous training, accurate assessments of military capabilities, coordination among units and the rapid identification and correction of shortcomings.

Jahanshahi also instructed commanders at all levels to strengthen combat capabilities through careful planning, continuous supervision and effective follow-up. The remarks come amid heightened military tensions between Iran and the US following months of hostilities and ongoing disputes over security and maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

About this analysis

Anadolu Agency reports that Iran's Army Ground Forces commander, Brig. Gen. Jahanshahi, ordered unit commanders to keep the highest combat readiness, and it attributes his words to Tasnim. It describes the order as his instruction and closes with a short line of context on tensions with the US. Nothing in it misleads the reader.

What it gets right

  • “Tasnim news agency reported Friday”

The outlet names the source of the report, so the reader knows the order comes through an Iranian news agency and is not the outlet's own finding.

  • “Jahanshahi said, according to Tasnim”

The commander's warning is quoted directly and attributed twice over, to the speaker and to the agency. Nothing he said is turned into the outlet's own claim.

  • “heightened military tensions between Iran and the US”

The outlet names both states as parties to the tensions. It does not cast Iran's readiness order as aggression or as a threat in its own voice.
